Brinsop is a small hamlet, 7 miles north west of Hereford. The origin of the name dates back to Bryns hop or the valley belonging to Bryn and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. St George’s church is close by and has associations with William Wordsworth and In the field outside is the well where the dragon was supposed to have lived that was slayed by St George. Credenhill Park Woods, owned by the Woodland Trust, is adjacent and is the site of a large Iron Age hill fort.
