self catering holiday accommodation in book country
|
|
| Hay
on Wye lies on the River Wye in the beautiful Wye Valley, and is world
renowned for its books and bookshops. The town has a slightly confused
identity, with some of it lying on the English side of the border, some
of it over the border into Wales and all of it in the postal district
of Herefordshire. The Hay Festival started in 1988 and has now grown
into an international event attended by some of the biggest names in
the world of literature and the arts, and drawing tens of thousands of
visitors from around the world. In the not too distant past, every
single shop on 'The Pavement' shopping area carried the name Pugh. |
