is 5 miles south-east of Hereford, near the confluence of the Rivers
Lugg and Wye. There is a village shop with post office, a
village pub serving food and a traditional village green. Walkers
will enjoy the
Mordiford Loop and the local Haugh Woods, with picnic sites and
walks...but beware of the dragon. The Dragon of Mordiford is reputed to
have lived in Haugh Woods and came down to Mordiford to drink from the
river. The dragon is depicted in painting and verse in the parish
Church of the Holy Rood. |
