7 miles south-west of Pontrilas. It
lies on the River Monnow - listed as one of the top places to swim in
rivers in the UK - close to the Black Mountains, Skirrid, Symonds Yat
and the Golden Valley. Skenfrith Castle is in the centre of the
village. Offas Dyke Path, the Black and White Trail and the
Forest of Dean make for some great walking. Other activities such as
cycling, with cycle paths locally, canoeing and fishing on the River
Wye, horse riding and golfing are nearby. There is a shop and
pub/restaurant in the village. |
